Bald Land Transport

The transportation system in the country is tangled in a web. What we need is someone to untangle the knots and provide a smooth flowing land transportation and reliable public commuting system. Well, Prime Minister Najib just fumbled by selecting Baldy Syed Hamid as Public Land Transport Commission's (SPAD) chief.

Syed Hamid is well known for his spinning! Pakar putar-belit! What can "past the shelf life" guy do to improve the land transport system? God knows what is in store! Malaysians are a cursed lot for tolerating idiots as chiefs, directors and ministers. All these morons do not have creative thinking to build the nation. All they know is to scheme to formulate discriminative policies, thieving projects, and swindle the nations wealth.

We are dished with high cost and ill managed public transportation system. Traffic congestion is giving headache. As though to add insult to injury, we are once again need to tolerate "Bald remarks!".
The whole land transport system is going to be in chaos!

Gasing out Semi Value

Dr. Mahatir quoted,
"One must not overstay one's welcome!"
He is referring to Datuk Seri Samy Vellu's long reign as MIC's president. MIC is a component party of Barisan Nasional coalition.
MIC represent the Indian community in Malaysian.

In the last election, majority of the indians abandoned MIC and the ruling BN government. This was due to numerous discriminative policies and obvious snubbing of the indians by the government. Though it was difficult to proof but the discrimination is very fertile on the ground. Due to frustration, the indians vent their anger and voted the opposition. They blamed Samy for failing to voice for the Indians the past 30 years or more.

Recently Samy announced that he would step down as MIC president in 8 to 9 months time. This didn't go down well with Mugilan who was recommended by UMNO as a by-election candidate in Hulu Selangor. However, Samy Vellu objected vehemently and Mugilan was replaced by Kamala nathan. It is very obvious that Mugilan holds grudge and he told Samy to quit immediately. Samy viewed it as dissent and sacked him and two others who joined Mugilan's chorus. Mugilan have now orchastrated an anti Samy movement (GAS) to oust Samy.

That is the current situation of MIC's problem. Well, Samy may have failed as a leader for the Indians, but is it really Samy's fault? We know Samy was a cabinet Minister until last election, but did the Prime Minister's during his tenure really listened to his grouses and tried to help? I doubt Dr.Mahatir did, all he would jealously say is "Indians are doing good, there are many doctors and lawyers...". As though all that Indian doctors and lawyers are taking care of the other Indians.

UMNO blames Samy for failing to get the indian votes. How convienient to put the blame? Samy's son said, "UMNO has been the bus driver and all other parties in the coalition are passengers!" How true and it is an open secret. It is UMNO which calls the shots and throws crumbs to the partners who are the lapdogs. Now the "driver" have driven into a ravine and blames the passengers for the mistake. UMNO blames everyone except itself. It fails to look inwards. It fails to attract the non-malays.

The troubles in MCA and MIC seemed to indicate UMNO's invisible hand in causing the internal problem. UMNO thinks changing the current leadership of MCA and MIC will help to get the non-Malays support. Is it so? What UMNO failed to realise is it's doing, the discriminative policies it formulates, obvious sidelining of Chinese and Indians and other minorities in projects, business licences, scholarships, university entry, shoving of Islamic values and forcing of syariah compliance on non-Malays and much more hegemony.

It is evident that UMNO has a hand in this GAS effort. Samy is right to expel Mugilan and others. Though I am not a Samy supporter but I agreee with him.

My workout plan!

In my previous post, I have stated that am exercising after 2 and half decades of inactivity. Whew! man that is a long time. Wonder what sicknesses are in store?

Doctors have confirmed that I have high blood pressure. Lately I have been having bouts of vertigo! Man, I hate this vertigo. It makes the whole room spin, heart rate pump faster, perspiration and sense of vomitting. Damn! I got to grab something to be steady. However, it is only a momentary sensation but I hate it. After 4 days of been hospitalised, doctors adviced me to change my lifestyle. They told me to do some workout. Now, it had been 2 weeks, all in 8 days of workout. Feeling a bit better than usual.

So, what is my workout plan? It is an outdoor activity. Walk, jog and stretching exercises. Total time spent is an hour. The first few days was hell. I couldn't run continuously for more than 30 seconds. Well, with some self discipline and datermination, now I am able to complete 5 km by walking and jogging. Now I am able to run a minute non stop.

My next target is to run 2 minutes non-stop. World class athlete could complete 800 metres under 1:45 seconds. But I am not an athlete, so I guess I completed 500 to 600 metres in 2 minutes. Compared to my younger days, I could run 40 minutes non stop and complete 10k races under 40 minutes. Now even 100 metres seem impossible. I have gone down badly, health wise.

Though not following any diet, I have felt a drop in appetite. I guess a cut of 500 calories in food and 500 calories burnt through workout have reduced the weight. Recent workout have reduced my waistline by an inch. That's good result in a short span of time.

Well, that all for now!

Getting rid of the FAT..

It had been nearly 25 years since I last exercised. At 45 now, after looking at myself, in the mirror, I decided it's time to get rid of the extra kilos. I hate to see the bulge in the stomach. Maaan! I can't even see my dick! Imagine that.

A great deal of my youth years was spent doing shift work, long hours too. It didn't provide a reasonable time for exercising. Oh! okay..been tired out of work, dread of the pain of exercising and being plain lazy contributed to being overweight.
Reminiscent of my younger days, I was an active person. Often participating in 10km races, playing football, hockey, badminton and other sporting events. But all came to an abrupt stop during work life. I dislike working on shift but didn't had much choice. I am an average guy and not too bright to secure a professional job. Reality sucks!
Now after some self-improvement, I have bettered my life. With a new perspective of life, I am looking forward to enjoy my remaining years. First I need to shed the weight and get fit. With some time management, I have included time for exercising. I am going to get back into shape.
In fact, I have started to jog. Though not overweight, I have an embarassing tummy. My waist is 36 inches but the bulge is an extra 3 inches (39 in). It's already 6 days of exercise and I have lost quarter of an inch of the bulge.
Well, some improvement is being felt. I can walk a bit faster, I don't pant much, don't fear of bending down to take dropped items (you will know what is this about once being inactive). My strategy of getting into shape is by adopting the old method, the hard way. No pain no gain. It's simply going to be walk, jog, run and various strecthing exercises. No gym, no dieting and no products. It's only willpower, endurance and time spent, all at no cost!
My objective is to be able to see my dick without being blocked by the tummy. Then, before year end, participate in one of those running event. When was the last you exercised? If you haven't, it's time to lift your lazy ass from the couch and start moving around.
